Dior Constellation is possibly my favorite palette of the year....so far ;)

Before I start this post, I do want to say I feel torn as to wether even do a review of this since it is now sold out everywhere for the most part. However, I find myself continuously reaching for this palette in favor of other eyeshadows... so the review must go on!

This palette was part of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and retailed for $61. Now I'm going to be real with you all and say I don't typically buy Dior palettes. I have the Dior Amber Rose highlighter, which is phenomenal, but I've never really seen a Dior quint that took my breathe away. This Constellation palette was a game changer!!

Design:
I've seen sooooooooooo many mixed reviews on the star design. I saw someone say it reminded them of makeup you bought when you were 5 and looked cheap (really?! really?!). I couldn't disagree farther from that. I really enjoy the star design that Dior used. It brings a little bit of playfulness and youth to their collection, which is something we don't see too often from Dior. In all honesty, I used to stay away from Dior because it just seemed very old school and for older women. This isn't too say that they haven't always had quality products, but for the first time, I found a quint that was really eye catching. Maybe it's just me... Maybe I'm still a kid at heart. Afterall, I am only 23...I say Bravo Dior! Bravo!

Price:
This is where I really struggled in buying this palette. I knew I would get this palette but a little piece of me was really sad at the price. However, you do get 5 shadows and they are all really great quality. Here's the fact: Dior is a high-end makeup brand. If you are use to buying Dior, the price was nothing. If you are used to buying Mac, Urban Decay, etc. I'm sure the price was a little bit of sticker shock. I will say this... After you buy one, it becomes easier lol (I picked up Bonne Etoile from the same collection a week later)! I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing.

Quality:
I realllllllllly cannot emphasize the quality of this palette enough. This have easily become one of my favorite palettes. There are a variety textures in this palette and I have not experienced ANY fallout. The pewter color is really glittery so I expected to deal with a lot of fallout, but to my surprise... I had none!! These shades are certainly not as buttery as some UD eyeshadows or Lorac shadows, but they are still super easy to work with and blend without the fallout that comes with more buttery shades. In terms of lasting power, I find that over a primer they last a good 8 hours. I have incredibly oily eyelids and will not wear any eyeshadow without primer, so I can't really be of any help to those of you that wear eyeshadows sans primer. Overall, A+ in my book.

Colors:
The colors in this palette are what us makeup fanatics dream of. They aren't too warm or too cool, they seem to transform and have the ability to work on a variety of skin tones. I was so relieved when I finally saw this palette in person. I had seen a number of reviews and some showed the colors looking incredibly pink (which would've looked horrible on my olive skin), while others looked more like what my swatches look like. My favorite color in this palette is the pewter color... I wish I could buy that color alone because I can see myself going through it really quickly. It works great all over the lid and is sparkly without being over the top. The light pink color is great as an inner corner highlight and brings together a look perfectly. Overall, all the colors are amazing. I don't own a lot of purples (again, it's hard finding purples that work on my skin) so this was a wonderful addition to my collection and something that I surprisingly wear a couple of times throughout the week.

Unfortunately, the stock of this palette was too low and they sold out immediately. That's probably the only downside I have with this palette. Hopefully, you were able to get one or are able to find one without paying an outrageous price.

Hope you guys are having an amazing (at least bearable week)! It's hump day and I couldn't be happier... two days till the weekend. :)

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.... You got me again.

Soooo... Friday was the start of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. Needless to say, I bought something... some thingsss. Ha! Now let me tell you, I originally just really wanted to pick up the Dior Constellation Quint. I don't have a Nordstrom card so I didn't get early access. Instead, I stayed up till midnight on Thursday/Friday waiting for the sale to become available online so that I could buy the quint online and then pick it up in store. You can imagine my disappointment when I saw this feature was disabled on their website. I decided, "Fine Nordstrom, I'll just go in the morning!!!" (I'm very impatient and didn't want to wait for shipping...my first mistake).

Now, like most people I have and job and had to be at work Friday morning. I didn't have to be there until 9 and saw that Nordstrom was going to open at 8. Problem solved! (or so I thought). I got up at 7:15 and hit the road by 7:45... Nordstrom is about 30 minutes from my house mind you. About 15 minutes into my drive, I thought well maybe I should call and make sure they have that before I go out of my way to get this palette. I called right at 8 and I was informed it had sold out during presale. At this point, I wanted to punch myself for a) waking up earlier than normal and b) driving without thinking to call! (my second mistake)

I busted a B**** and headed back home so that I could order it online. I got home, put the quint in my card, decided to see what else was in the sale, debated a bit, but ultimately was just going to get the quint, was about to pay and what do you know?,... the quint is gone and it is now completely sold out. (third mistake... thats what happens when I "window"shop)

In a panic, I call the Nordstrom thats about 45 minutes away from my house and they have 1 (I REPEAT ONE!!!) quint left. I don't understand why the stock for this quint was so small?!!?!?  So the SA on the phone said she could hold it for me for a couple hours. I literally took half my day off of work so that I could go get this dang palette and naturally, I had to make my drive more worth it and bought myself a wallet and phone case in the process. (Fourth mistake.... Lesson for the week: Buy it online, have some patience and just wait for it to come, and save yourself the stress!)

Overall, I'm really happy with my purchases. I've been eyeing a Kate Spade wallet for a minute and this was the perfect opportunity to get one. Had I not gone into the store however, I would have been a good shopper and stuck to my guns about what I wanted. I will have a review of the Dior quint up in the next few days. Which may be pointless seeing as how low the stock was, but I'm sure there are few floating around :)

Did you guys find some amazing steals? Is there something I missed that I need to try and get my hands on? Anyone have a mishap of a story like mine?

Kardashian/Khroma Beauty Review

So I had seen sooooooo many beauty bloggers rave over the Kardashian (No longer Khroma due to a lawsuit) joysticks and beauty line in general.

  • Let me just put this out there, I am neither obsessed with nor hate the Kardashians. I know a lot of people are very extreme when it comes to their feelings about them, I think they are entertaining and smart business women. I mean just look at the empire they've got going on for goodness sakes. However, I'm not someone who wants to buy everything they put out. This review definitely isn't biased in that sense.
Anyways, I decided to finally go pick up some of their products. I saw the Kardashian Beauty was buy one, get one half off at Ulta, plus I had a $3.50 off coupon so I thought it was a good time to try some stuff out. After scouring their display, I settled on two products; Babydoll Joystick ($8.99) and Summer Honey Lipgloss ($8.99). The price of these isn't horrible these days. Plus with my coupon, I only ended up paying $10 for both. So let's break these bad boys down:

Scent: The first thing  I did when I got into my car was open these up and smell them. Of all the reviews I read, everyone mentioned the honey scent and I was curious to see if I'd like this...

  • Joystick-Yes ... The scent of this was pleasant... it was like a mix of honey and vanilla... not too overpowering...
  •  Lipgloss-NO ...GOOD GRIEF...This scent is EXTREMELY strong... I'm not trying to be dramatic, but I gag a little when I smell this. The scent is just too overpowering for my liking. It smells like honey/chemicals times a million. Just no... not for me. Once it is on my lips, the scent seems to not be as strong. I can still slightly smell it and it drives me crazy.
Color Payoff: The real reason I bought the Kardashian line was because I heard rave reviews about the color payoff and the colors just looked really pretty in general.

  • Joystick Babydoll- The color payoff of this is actually really good. Its very creamy, applies really nicely. I think the color is wrong for my skin tone. I already knew this but I also dream of colors like this working for me... they never do. I'm verryyy olive and warm. Babydoll is a cool-toned pink and will look beautiful on some of you lighter skin ladies. Overall, I liked the Payoff and the color... for someone else =D
  • Lipgloss Summer Honey- This is a very sheer lipgloss. It has a nice shimmer to it but doesn't translate all that well onto the lips. The shine also doesn't translate... I'm not really sure what the purpose of this product is... maybe the ultra minimalist look?

Wear: The make or break for products usually comes down to wear time. I mean honestly, who wants to reapply lip products every 30 minutes.

  • Joystick- This wore pretty well on me. I would say it lasted about 2 hours, then another two of very very faint color. It's really creamy so it didn't stay put very long, but I expected that with the creaminess of it.
  • Lipgloss: I don't even know what to say about this product, it just did nothing for me. No shine, was gone in like 15 minutes.... errrr ya, this was a bust. There are wayyyyyyy better lipglosses at the drugstore.
The last thing I want to touch on is packaging. the packaging was actually appealing when I first saw it. However after only a day of using my joystick, the tip broke. Not to mention, it's a very messy product. As you can see in the picture, it gets all over the edge because of the creaminess. I might be the only one who gets bothered by things like that, but yes... it bothers me lol.

Overall, the joystick was ok, nothing I would repurchase. The lipgloss I will stay miles away from.

Have you all had luck with your Kardashian Beauty? Is there something I need to pickup to try from them?

BTW: Currently jamming to Taking Back Sunday... The Union... really takes me back to high school. If you loved them as much as I did, *high five* through the blogosphere!! "I never made a scene...well they came to me"

Well it's been a year...

Helllllo out there!

So it's been more or a less a year since I last posted. I completely forget about this blog as life got hectic. In all fairness, I never really put much into this. However,  I think it's time I changed that. See, I live in a city where I do not know anyone. I moved here when my significant other got a job and long story short, I travel with my job so I just haven't really made many friends. Plus, the people I work with tend to be quite a bit older than me. Any-who, this blog and Youtube tend to be my outlet, my "girl time" so to speak. I come on here and just write about the things I like, don't like, anything that's going on in my life, etc... the kinds of things I talk about to my girlfriends, mom, etc. Basically this blog is going to turn into a mixture of everything, fashion, beauty, advice... yada yada.... So without rambling anymore, welcome to the blog and my goal is to post at least twice a week! I hope you guys find this somewhat helpful and if not, at the very least it's an outlet for me, my favorite hobbies will come to life on here!

MAC Heavenly Creature Collection

Hellooo!
Long time, no post!
So on Tuesday, I saw that MAC Heavenly Creature Collection had gone up online. I was sooooo excited and as much as I wanted to buy everything in sight. I only bought two. (Now that I see the quality and how much I love them, I am definitely getting more!) Now, I loveeee mineralized products. I know some people don't but I really love them- especially this collection! If you like matte products (i.e. not satin finish, not glittery or shimmery), this collection probably isn't for you.
So the two that I picked up were the Star Wonder MSF and Solar Ray Mineralized blush. I really wanted to pick up Super Nova Blush but it was already sold out by the time I got on Tuesday! That one is definitely going to be a hottttt seller!

So first up is Star Wonder Mineralize Skin FInish. This is a beautiful pink with gold and bronze shimmer. For me, I use this with a stippling brush and it works perfectly. Its super pigmented, so a light hand works best! I really like this one. I don't know how necessary it is depending on the pinks in your stash. This is necessary for me because I love the golden shimmer in it and the finish is amazeeeee.
NOW THIS IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! I really wish the pictures did it more justice. It is seriously the most beautiful orange-peach color with golden glitter. The glitter particles in this are a little bit bigger but I don't find them to end up all over my face like my NARS Super Orgasm. I do find that I have to use a denser blush brush, rather than a stippling brush because it's not quite as pigmented as Star Wonder and I'm more medium/tan so I need a bit more pigmentation.

Overall, I just love this collection. In my opinion, a lot of the products have gold, bronze warm undertones which compliment my skin AMAZINGLY. I also lean towards glittery, shimmery, satin face products so this product was indeed sent from heaven!

XOXO

June Glam Bag

Sooo... My Glam Bag came in!
I was eagerly anticipating this one, knowing that a NYX lipstick would be in it.
I can never have enough of those!

So this months bag came with:
*NXY Round Lipstick in Power
*Marbella Permanent (? permanent is a little extreme) eyeliner
*Philosophy Take a Deep Breath moisturizer
*Living Proof. frizz Nourishing Styling Cream (which isn't pictured here.. sorry!)

So first of all... let me just say I freaking adore the bag. I could care less if it was probably less than a dollar to make! I LOVE anything gold... anything glittery... so when you combine those two... you make this girl happy! I'll probably throw this in my purse and use it for pens and pencils or something! This is the first bag from Myglam that I will actually use, so that right there is already a step up!

(I used the Marbella liner in this picture and am wearing NYX Power Lipstick!)

On to the Lipstick, well I love it. I think that sums that up. I really was hoping I'd get Orange Soda, but I love this one anyway. I'll just go buy orange soda.

The Marbella eyeliner is nice. It's seems to work pretty effortlessly. When I first started using eyeliner, I gravitated to the felt tip pens so I'd say it's pretty easy for beginners. I haven't tested the so-called "permanent" staying power lol, but I'm guessing it will fair well if they are willing to use that word for it. I do like it. I don't thing anything will ever replace my Urban Decay 24/7 liner. That stuff is my holy grail... and holy cow I've never used "HG" to describe anything.. although now that I think about it... I have a couple of HG products.

Ok, Philosophy.. I love. I think their brand is pretty awesome when it comes to my skin care. I had never tried this Take a Deep Breath moisturizer. I do like it. I think it would be good for oil skin because it's really lightweight and is absorbed into the skin quickly. I used this right before putting my makeup on ( I had used another moisturizer this morning) and it gave my skin a nice pick me up. I definitely don't think this is enough alone for someone with dry skin, like myself.

Now the last product, Living Proof. frizz Nourishing Styling Cream, I have yet to use. I was going to use it this morning until I read the instructions and it says to apply to clean, damp hair... well my hair was dry and already styled so that product will have to wait until tomorrow!

I hope you guys enjoyed this little review!

My Take: Hard Candy - Take it all Off

Hi everyyyoonee! I hope your weekend was amazing and safe!! <33
I wanted to get this review up because I've been using this product and this weekend kind of solidified that this really ISN'T all that.

Soooooo.... this weekend, I decided to wear A LOT of glitter (Yes I LOVEEE glitter.. sue me) and wore my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE eyeliner- 24/7 Liquid Waterproof Eyeliner. Well... I was really hoping this product would show me up and take off my makeup easily... but sadly no!

So first of all, a little about the product:
*The smell of this is definitely interesting.. at first it smells sweet... like coconuts almost but then there's this weird chemical smell that lingers.
*The texture is very creamy.
*The packaging is nice and sanitary (compared to my ponds cold cream), you just squeeze the product out of the tube.
* I believe this product was somewhere around $5.

So anyways, enough about that. Let's talk about how it works....
Well it would probably work pretty well work non-waterproof makeup. However, I wear a lot of waterproof eye-makeup, really stubborn makeup, and this just takes wayyyyyyyy too much work to get it all off. I literally have to keep rubbing for my eyeliner and mascara to come off and I DEFINITELY do not want to be rubbing my eyes... negative. Eventually, all my waterproof makeup does come off but with just too much work. I think if you are someone that doesn't wear stubborn makeup, it's a pretty cheap makeup remover. However, if you are like me and like makeup that basically would stay put through a hurricane... this isn't for you. I was disappointed because I had high hopes for this product... but on to the hunt for a better make up remover!
